This week, Baby Boomer Rebecka held the Immunity Pin, giving her the power to influence the challenge.

The “Age is Just a Number” episode of MasterChef: Generations saw Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z continue their culinary battle. Judges Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez, and Joe Bastianich challenged the contestants to craft an extraordinary dish using at least two aged and fermented ingredients within 60 minutes. With the safety of an immunity pin, the winner of last week's challenge chooses a generation to incorporate a surprise ingredient into their dishes in the all-new “Age is Just a Number” episode of MasterChef: Generations - aired Wednesday, July 10th.

L-R: Contestants Becca, Anna, Kimberly and Warren in the “Age is Just a Number” episode

This week, Baby Boomer Rebecka held the Immunity Pin, giving her the power to influence the challenge. Halfway through the cooking time, she descended from the balcony to assign a surprise third ingredient to one of the generations. The ingredient revealed was Stilton, and Rebecka chose Gen X to incorporate it into their dishes.

The competition intensified as each generation vied for the Immunity Pin, which would safeguard their entire group from elimination in the "Age is Just a Number" episode.

The standout dishes of the night included Becca from Gen Z with her dry-aged duck breast and aged prosciutto, Anna from Millennials with her oil-poached aged snapper, Kimberly from Gen X with her dry-aged duck breast, and Warren from Baby Boomers with his dry-aged New York strip steak.

Anna emerged as the overall winner, earning the Immunity Pin and ensuring safety for the Millennials. She expressed her excitement, saying, “I feel so good to win this challenge for my team. The Millennials are safe. I took some risks. It paid off so I just feel great to be on the balcony and safe from elimination and just finally relax.”

Contestant (Gen X) Sunshine in the “Age is Just a Number” episode

However, not all dishes met the judges' standards. Fatima from Gen Z faced criticism for her aged salmon and kimchi balls with spaghetti, Sunshine from Gen X for her dry-aged rib eye steak, and Christopher from Baby Boomers for his steamed aged snapper.

Sunshine was ultimately eliminated, despite the judges praising her use of Stilton. Reflecting on her performance, she said, “I second guessed myself tonight. I had a curveball thrown and I hesitated, and that’s not what it takes to stay here. It’s a ton of pressure and you have no idea until you’re here exactly how difficult this road is. I am proud of myself. I made it to MasterChef and that is an accomplishment on its own.”
